  Software downloads

HPrint

HPrint is the HeinOnline printing helper application, available for Windows. You must install HPrint (see below) to print directly to your Windows printer.

  • Install HPrint
(Windows 98/NT/2K/XP only. HPrint is not available for Windows 95. Uninstall previous versions before installing.)

Note: Using HPrint on Windows 98/ME machines requires Visual Basic runtime files. Because these are common routines, and thus may be already installed on your machine, they are not included in the HPrint installation. You can download an installer for the necessary VB runtime libraries here.

The first time you use an HPrint link above, follow these easy steps to configure your browser. You may wish to print this page before proceeding.

    For Internet Explorer:

    1. When the "File download" dialog box appears, select "Open this file from its current location".
    2. Uncheck the box labelled "Always ask before opening this type of file" and click OK.
    3. When the "Open with" dialog box appears, click the Other... button.
    4. In the box labeled "File name:", type "C:\Program Files\HeinOnline\HPrint.exe" and click Open.
Make sure the box labelled "Always use this program to open this file" is checked, then click OK.
    5. Back in the first "Open With" window, HPrint should appear, highlighted, in the list of programs. Click OK
    For Netscape Communicator:
    1. When the "Unknown File Type" dialog appears, click the Pick App... button.
    2. In the "Configure External Viewer dialog box, type "C:\Program Files\HeinOnline\HPrint.exe" and click OK.
    3. If you receive a warning about a possible security hazard, make sure that you have "Open it" selected,
uncheck the box labelled "Always ask before opening this type of file", then click OK.
